SEMCO Homes has a family legacy and background of hands-on building experience that spans four generations.  Third-generation son, Donnie Marchant, wife Debi and son Josh are passionate about building homes with exceptional quality and enduring value.

    In The Beginning . . . . . Shelby Ernest Marchant Sr., "Daddy Ernie" as he was called by his family, began as a carpenter building houses in Dallas, Texas during the boom years following World War II.  With a meager beginning, he labored to start a business not knowing that it would evolve into a family relationship with the building industry that has lasted four generations.  Building one house at a time, one board at a time, every day gaining new ground he forged ahead.  

Soon his son Shelby Ernest Marchant Jr. “S.E.” would take the family business to another level.  He quickly added a new dimension to the family business by not only building new homes but remodeling them as well.  He then took it a step further when he earned his Real Estate Broker's License.  In the years ahead S.E. brought his son Donnie into the business leading by example and sharing his experiences to teach him the business from the ground up. 

S.E. taught Donnie the skills his father had taught him that had been tried, tested and proved to be good methods for building homes. Donnie attended College in Bethany, Oklahoma in the 1970's and gained building experience working to pay for his education.  His personal experiences helped him to learn all aspects of the business in a practical way including contracting at a young age.  This all enabled him to become a more complete and knowledgeable builder in preparation to form a home building company partnership with S.E. in 1983.  In 1993, the company was officially named SEMCO Homes after its name sake, S E Marchant CO.

To The Present . . . . .Donnie moved SEMCO Homes to Oklahoma from Texas in 1998 when he saw the potential and opportunities that the great community of Oklahoma City presented. Having been in the Oklahoma City market in College, the move took a natural progression and begin to flourish as he built quality homes in the tradition of those before him.

The fourth generation became a part of this great legacy when Josh Marchant, Donnie's son was added to the team.  Josh also began as had his forefathers with foundational training in college and learning framing and other practical aspects of home building and construction.  Josh has been with the company for seven years and is continuing in the tradition of quality and dependability that has been passed on to him by his father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Donnie's wife Debi is an owner and integral part of the company and brings financial and organizational skills, along with the expertise and knowledge to make critical decisions needed in any successful company.  Therefore, SEMCO Homes has everything it needs to be an efficient well directed company to endure the challenges of a rapidly changing market.

SEMCO Homes has one main focus; to treat you as we would one of our own family members.  From the time “Daddy Ernie” Marchant first began in the construction industry nearly 50 years ago, to the time when S.E.
